I just hope it is not a bust. I would really like to know if the kings come in in decent numbers or if it is a crap shoot like Ship Creek.

I haven't done it, but in talking to others who have it is even more of a crap shoot than Ship Creek. Kings come in, but not in large numbers by any stretch. I hear of a couple being taken every year, but it's not the place to look for consistent action.

i know there are some that run there because there is a tiny little stream right where you park and i saw SOME fire engins in there swimming around not to many though. watch out for bears also. i saw lots of fish pulled up on the bank half eaten. that was 2 years ago.

Oh, there's no doubt there are kings in there. F&G aren't stocking it any longer, but there are at least four small creeks in Eagle River valley that I'm aware of that host returning kings. Be careful with the regs, though - the legal area is reasonably small as are the dates for fishing. A few people got nailed last year for illegally fishing at the mouth of Meadow Creek, so take a close look at the maps.

I would say you have an exponentially better chance of landing a king at either the tail race or ship. I would not waste any time on ER.
