Does anyone have any experience with this Gps unit? I am looking for a marine mounted gps unit that accepts the mapsource Alaska topo's. What do you think?

    Thanks

I haven't used that particular unit but in my experience, if you can upload Bluechart maps then you can use it for Topo as well. This is from Garmins website under specifications for the 172C: Uploadable maps: Accepts preprogrammed or user-programmed Garmin data cards containing optional MapSource cartography. I'd say your good to go.

I have it and use it with both blue-chart and topo's. Works great
