Default Lost Keel Roller in Whittier

Yesterday between the launch and the parking lot, I lost my new 12" keel roller from my trailer. Not sure how, but one of the end caps from the shaft came off and the roller slide off. If you found one on the road or in the parking lot, let me know. I know it's a pretty cheap item, but those little things add up pretty fast.

Besides that, pretty nice day on the water. Nearly flat seas. Caught 5 rockfish and a few shrimp. Saw one bear in Culross and possibly another near Mink Island area. Hope it clears up for this weekend.

Interesting that you brought up the cap falling off....sorry bout the loss. I was installing a new one a couple weeks ago and thought what a pain it would be if a cap popped off so I drilled and tapped the pin and locktighted a 1/4" bolt through the caps just to be sure I never had that problem. Now I feel like it was worth all the extra effort! Admittedly the lathe did most of the work drilling the pin.

After looking at it today, I think I have plenty of room to drill each end and put a cotter pin thru it and a big washer. I'll give it a try this weekend. Thanks.
