Revisiting the workbench and ran across a construction method that struck my fancy- keyed mortise and tenon.
Anyone use this in constructing a bench?
I picked a 1.5"x24"x72" butcher block type top from Sears and accumulated some oak 2"x4" from pallets that appear pretty straight. I have an old bunk bed ends that are solid and made of oak as well. Thought the 2x4s would make acceptable stretchers and tying them into the (2.25"x2.25") uprights with the keyed mortise and tenons.
