    Default Mercury extended warranty

Just recieved the offer for extended warranty from Merc on my 2011 150 Optimax.
I've already got the three year warranty.
Is it worth getting the extended coverage, whether its 1,2,3 or 4 year?
    Thanks

Yukoner, After pricing some minor AND major OEM Mercury parts for my 200 Optimax, I went ahead and purchased an extended warrantee. I am not an aftermarket kinda man (which are cheaper to buy) and think that the warrantee will save my arse some day... Good Luck man... "fishon"

    It saved my butt!

I don't think there is a better weight/power engine out there, but I also think they are a finicky engine.

My 2007 200 optimax was having issues, (It keep shaking accessories off of it). Marita Sea & Ski told me the 2007 year engine had a history of vibration problems. They got Mercury to replace my engine under warrantee. I ended up paying about $300 on a $10,000 bill.

I was on year 4 of a 5 year extended warrantee.
