Default Yamaha 704 throttle control help

Standard dual controls for twin yamahas. Has anyone taken theirs apart to lube it or adjust it? Mine is really hard to throttle up and back, but the adjusters aren't making any difference. Before I tear it all apart, I was wondering if there is an easy way to lube the mechanism or the cables without really digging into it.

It's not likely a problem with your controls ,more likely aproblem with the cables.Either the way they are routed or cable it's self. They don't to be lubed after installition. You really don't want to take them apart, can't count the number that
I have had to reassemble for coustermers.

Thanks for the advice. I'll look at the cable routing.

Fixed it today. It was the actual linkage on the motors. They needed a little bit of silicone sprayed on the top of the shaft that runs down the case. Smooth as silk now.
