    Default Valley lake ice out

Was wondering if the valley bureau could keep us updated on ice out? I drove by Kepler lake on Monday and it looked pretty dang rotten. Hoping by this weekend we could see some open water!

Kepler and Echo still locked in. The bridge between Kepler and Bradly has a few ft of open water, but the channel there is still pretty solid. I've been checking on my way home. Looks like it should be next week when it breaks up if the weather holds.

Hopefully I can hit it up soon. Should melt more this weekend!

I'd say that Finger is a good 2 weeks away from being open at the rate it is going. Some wind, more sun, and warmer temps will accelerate that of course......

Rainbows. It's a tiny lake, but there are a few big ones in there. I only fished it once last year and got an 18" and a few 10 to 12" rainbows.

I would think Echo lk probably also went out. I didn't stop to look, but it looked like it was ready to go on Sunday. Kepler was still pretty solid looking except for right at the channel to Bradley. Most likely this weekend.

Kepler is almost there. There's about 2 acres open next to the channel.

Mirror Lake In Peters Creek and Fire Lake in ER both have about 30-50 feet of open water.

The pic is from Finger lk today. Plenty of open water to at least run it up on the trailer.

Matanuska lake is open. Fishing wasn't good. Trolled around for a few hours and only one little hit.

I was in Palmer/Wasilla this on Saturday and checked out a few lakes. Echo lake, and Kepler bradley lakes were all open. There were a few people fishing with bobbers on Bradley lake. I didn't see or hear of anyone getting anything.

Has anyone checked out Long Lake back in the Bradley-Kepler system yet? It's kind of down in that hold so it may not be out yet.

Thanks. That's usually one of the last to go out. Maybe another week will do it...
