Default Bear Meat Specialists in Southeast Towns,...??

Feel like I'm cheatin' a bit,....but this is what the AOD Folks, "Shine At," right?
Have no time to do Forum Archive searches,...
Limited Internet time available before I depart north through some pretty serious Black Bear Country

So, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me Good Stories about a Game Meat Processor in any of the major towns in Southeast,...would love to hear of a Great Sausage kinda place, who know Black Bear Meat,...

Hoping to take a Bear in Southern Island area, then have lots of time to stop through the major towns on my way north, probably stop in Wrangell, Petersburg, Sitka, (probably not Juneau tho, too far inside)

I'm driving a boat up, and can freeze the meat on board, up to a point (5 cuft freezer anyway)
but it's not preferrable to carry it all the way to Kodiak, then have to ship it to Anch anyway

So, any ideas,..., and Thanks for the help

I don't know about a great game processor, but Charlie at the A&P grocery does a good job. We used to have him grind our deer burger and make breakfast sausage for us----we now do our own after getting the right equipment. I think he also does link and sticks but not really certain on that. If you want I can check for you and also find out if he processes toothy critters.

    Thanks King,
I didn't mention Ketch. just for the idea that I should be hunting after stopping thru Ketchikan,
so would be continueing up north with meat on board.

Would be hard to go backwards, tho I kinda figured there would be something good there.

Still thinking of looking you up on my way thru, ok?
I should be tossing the lines loose here, within a few days, ambling my way thru Canada,
should send a PM or something, from somewhere in Canada, to see if you're in town when I'm there.

PM me when you're coming thru and we'll see if we can meet up.

I've had the butcher at Trading Union in Petersburg do some meat for me. He's butchered large game, done burger and sausage of our deer and I'm sure he'd do more. Call them and ask for the meat department, he may do it on company time or on his own, but you'll have to talk to him, his name is Danny Thompson. Good luck on you bear hunt.

City market does local meat but it takes a couple weeks at times and don't think they are equiped to ship.It would be nice to say hello if you hit Wrangell.874=2262

I don't think city market will do bear at the store but chris Booker one of the butchers at city market may do it after work. He does a lot of moose and deer when he is not at the store. And I am sure we could figure out a way to ship it.

Sadly, there's nobody in Sitka that processes game. Except, I believe the two grocery stores will grind meat into burger, but it has to be cut up and ready to go first.

I miss that guy out in Bells Flat, when we lived in Kodiak.

Small town S.E. is still a do yourself kind of place which ain't bad compared to the ratrace.A good sausage marker would be nice though.
