    Default Is Willow Open?

Has anyone tried floating Willow Crk yet (either above or below The Parks)? Hoping to get some air in the packraft and have a nice mellow float. Thanks...

You know your not catching any fish when you start talking about the weather...

    Default possible highwater year

The mountains are loaded with snow this year, and although alot has subliminated, there is a historical amount of snow that is actually going to turn to liquid and head downhill.
Be darn careful this year, the water spikes in the evenings will be huge on sunny days, don't get caught in these events unprepared.
I bet in a week to ten days the ice ledges will be cleared enough to boat upstream of the parks, if it's not totally blownout.
If you avoid high water, and the streams do get pretty high this year, watch for new wood when the water comes back down, trees seem to jump in the creeks over the frozen winters.
See some of you guys soon, on the water.
Chris S. where the heck have you been?

I second that Mark and good points all around. Driving back from Petersville... lots of water beginning to break. Of all the bridges, Willow Creek was the most open of any bank to bank at the highway bridge. Snow is going fast! Something to imagine may be that it is going faster than ever. Despite some record depths, water content may be somewhat less than other snow-packs over the years. All the sunny, warm weather has been really taking away snow and ice down low.

    Default its open

Took a float on Sunday. Nice trip but the water level was a little on the low side. No flow at all to the first mouth. Lots of new wood. It is no longer possible to go river left at the log jam. Good news is that the river flow has been diverted to the river right side so it is a lot better than years past.

Three trees span the river bank to bank. We were able to drag the raft over all 3 but a chain saw would have been nice. we are going to have to clear these three or the river will become unfloatable.

A few small trout mid float and a few bigger fish near the mouth. ESL and beads.

Be safe and have a great season!
