I would be real curious how the weight is going to effect the performance. I don't think it's gonna haul butt but it should carry more load...at least get it on step easier unless the extra weight with the power and jet effects it. What impellar did you go with?

What made you decide to repower, did you have problems with the Sportjet? Definitely keep us posted, I'm really curious to see how it performs against the SJ. I'd be especially curious to hear how it runs in shallow water with the extra weight, if it really makes all that much difference or not.

According to Kem Equipment, a marinized 6L is 875lbs. A 212 is 170lbs including the intake grate. Will be interesting to hear how she performs.

What would make me nervous about that swap is the hole it will make at take-off and how much more water it needs out of the hole....obviously it will be faster and carry more weight but will likely need alot more water from a dead stop. Look forward to seeing your results.

The only caveat I could think of is that the hull was desinged with the SJ in mind, and that 212 will pumps MUCH more water. I wonder if you might get some cavitation issues? Might you need to add some more structure to allow for more clean water intake?

Mount the engine forward like the big inboards to compensate for the extra weight?
