Default ruger stainless matte finish to shiny

How can you make a hawkeye matte stainless look like the older mk2s that had the shiny finish??

Elbow grease and red scotchbrite. Without a scotchbrite wheel on a buffer I would say your best bet at a good even finish will be to polish longitudinally. Be sure to clean all the excess dust and grit out of the action, trigger, and bore after your done.

Wonder if some kind of paint remover will take off the grey????

It seems to be some kind of spray on finish.

The grey is like a Teflon type stuff and is best removed by glass beading. That's the best way I've found anyway, makes it easier to get in all the cracks and crannies.
