Does anyone know if the boat launch is usable yet? I was hoping to try out a new motor this weekend?!

This is good; the crew is looking forward to getting out this weekend. We will try for late afternoon Friday in hopes of finding a parking spot. Taking the snow shoes and leaving most of the fishing gear at home. Plan on two nights weather permitting.

Well, ya'll... I finaly felt good enough this morning to get off the couch and so took a quick roadtrip to Whittier. The boat launch is plowed, kinda and there is absolutly no where to park your truck and trailer. The big lot is still a snow dump as is half of the parking lot there at the harbor. And in the little space there was to park, there were some big boats parked there, looked like they were getting work done to them. With the 15th coming up and spring being here, they better get busy or there are guna some pissed of boaters when they get there and see what i'm talking about. Good luck Whittier, I hope you can giterdun... "fishon"

I was going to drive over there next week to check it out. Sounds like they are going to start working on it then. Thanks for the info.

Just got off the phone with the lady at Whittier harbor and she tells me they don't know what they are going to do tomorrow if a lot of boats show up for the Sunday shrimp opener. If we go down Iím sure not taking my shrimp gear if I canít drop a pot tell Sunday, makes no sense. She thinks by Thursday there should be plenty of parking. It would really be a drag to have to turn around because there is no where to park the trunk and trailer. We were just going to go out on a shakedown cruise for a couple of days so perhaps weíll wait a week, or not!

This is kind of reminiscent of the landslide fiasco.

If you go make sure to pack a few coolers full of snow to take out and dump. They need all the help they can get to make it go away!!

Maybe someone should have dropped off a copy of the Sport fishing regs to them a week or so ago. Amazes me how they didn't think to prepare a little bit sooner than this.
