    Default Quartz Lake

How is the fishing on Quartz Lake when the first ice is out? Does anyone know if there is still ice on the lake now? Thanks for the help. Mark

    Default Ice Thickness

I fished Birch Lake yesterday and the ice was about 38 inches thick. The lake was wind blown and the ice is getting softer. No overflow yet. Several ice huts still on the lake.

Although I did not go to Quartz Lake, they are very similar every year with ice out.

I did manage to catch 1 nice rainbow about 14-15 inches long. I was fishing shallow with bait in about 1 1/2 foot water depth.
