As anyone been on the Upper Kenai River? I'm looking to float from the bridge to Sportsmans on April 6th. Is it floatable yet?

100 yard stretch was frozen below the Kenai Lake bridge as of Sunday.

I was down there Friday, water is open, but the banks aren't clear all the way down so you might have trouble pulling out.

lol of course I was fishing…………..didn't catch, one hit for about 4 hours of fishing………..didn't see any silvers either. I threw 1 of everything from the 4 basic food groups. I would have put more effort into it but people started showing up in the early afternoon so I booked.

I've been hearing about the new bakery opening up on that stretch. Not sure what is going on with that fishery this winter, brutal! I don't think I'll be going down there this next R&R, I'll save my $$$.

LOL Oh yeah they are passin out doughnuts left and right. I mean I know I am not a pro but I usually do some thing right to get 1 hit there every time I go which I did, but to see people out there with center pins, spay/ switch rods get skunked.........yeah some thing is up. I don't know if the run off dropped the water temp or what but it was slow. I think I will just wait for the parks to open up.

I was down there with 3 buddies yesterday. Thank god for Mid 40's, no wind and good friends cuz the fishing stunk. We fished the bridge for 4 hours throwing about 30 different things at them....Saw one fish caught by a guy. Little dink. River is open all the way to jims but your not gonna be able to launch or land yet...Still huge Ice shelves...It has opened up alot in the last two weeks though....

Hmmmm, three of us landed fifteen or so last Sunday below the bridge. We were in a boat though.
