    Default Alaska magazine issue p44-45

Anyone seen the new Alaska magazine fishing hot spot issue? The guy on p44-45 looks familiar. Nice trout, looks like it was a bead?

I was thinking the same thing. Does anyone have a link to a discussion where he makes that claim?

Not to be too hard on the guy, but it did give me a little chuckle as I was flipping through the pages.

I read the article as well. The self proclaimed expert deserves a little ribbing. Is he old enough to drink beer yet?

Oh no!! The hypocrite...excuse me "The Great One" might have to eat his words a little? I wonder if he's used to the taste of his own foot by now?? Haven't seen him spewing his nonsense on here for a while. You think he finally got a clue or he's being "the greatest fly fisherman that ever lived" somewhere?

I bet he caught the fish on a hand made dry fly made out of monkey nut hair, then photoshopped a bead in the image to keep the rest of us in the dark.

Also, it looks like that bead/fly/whatever seems to be pinned (the line certainly looks to drop straight away from the bead) & we all know that a monkey never pins a bead, just lets it slide free on the line.

Boy howdy. Do we ever know about it.

Great thread below I started on 3-15-09 about how to fish beads. Got lots of great input.

However, around post #5 you will need to put on your hip waders

Actually I never use anything but beads and dolly llamas, nothing else works ever.
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

Beads on line above a dolly llama? Pegged bead or free floating?

Congrats on the pic man. Nothing wrong with having a pic in a fishing mag.

I think it is pretty cool myself. Neat to show grandparents and such. Old folks get a kick out of such things.

Only thing cooler is being the host of a fishing DVD.
