    Default Salmon Bacon

I tried making some salmon bacon using the only recipe I could find.

    http://www.thewanderingtable.com/index.php?p=1_14

I only rinsed the salmon for about 20 minutes and it turned out way too salty. I was going to try again and rinse it for 1 hour in next batch.

    Has anyone else tried this?

Besides the saltyness, how was it? It just doesn't sound right but I am always willing to try something new and alaskan

I think that it will be pretty good. The curing salt gives it a firm texture pretty close to real bacon. I probably won't be eating it with my pancakes, but it would be great on a sandwich or just a snack.

I have never tried it but it might just be worth trying.
I know Fred West at Tustumena Smokehouse is working on marketing a salmon bacon product. Should go well with his Salmon Sausage he makes.
I was skeptical on the Salmon sausage until I tried it so maybe I need to try Salmon bacon.

This sounds like it could be really good if done right. I'd also expect that it would be a lot better for you than regular bacon.

    Good luck!
