    Default Gummy Minnow!

So i took a trip to my local fly-tying super store and i came across a very expensive baitfish pattern the "Gummy Minnow", after a few minute chat about the fly i decided to take on the challenge and duplicate the pattern. Let me be the first to tell you it is a pain in the arse. After many failed attemps i think i figured them. Here's a pic enjoy.Click image for larger version.

    Default Practice, Practice, Practice........

After alot of practice and experimenting with materials, im starting to enjoy making these patterns. Possibilities are endless.

Summer before last that was the only pattern/thing we could get rainbows to hit on one creek- and man did they hit it!
I would like to try some longer skinnier tail sections to get some more movement in the current.
    Again, very nicely done!

definatly holler when you do! I've tinkered with the idea but decided at the time not to bother. Saw a write up on them and they looked like a headache lol. I say that after enjoying 7 hours on one fly spinning/shaving deerhair...guess I'm a little crooked in the head that way LOL. They gotta be awesome for spring bows, hoping to hit the tal again this spring after turkey season!

A video would be great- saw some a couple of days ago- even the tiny ones were $5.50 each!

These have been a very productive "fly" for me. However, I've found that they will spin during the retrieve (probably one of the reasons they work so well) and can really twist up your leader and fly line. I found that adding a very small, high quality ball bearing swivel ~ 12" in front of the fly helps out alot with reducing the line twist issues.
