Thread: Aluminum Boat kits

    Default Aluminum Boat kits

I've been interested for a long time in trying my hand at building an aluminum boat. I'd like to start small, like a 16'-18' skiff. To make it easy the first time, I'd like to buy a pre-cut kit.

Does anyone have suggestions on who sells them? All I could find is one on metalboatkits.com.

There are lots of plans out there, but I want the pre-cut kit. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I have called these people many times, They offer both plans and precut palletized "kits", Egg crate construction easy to assemble. I am looking at Hull 1147 myself....

Not all links are for alloy, but still interesting.

Specmar looks like a great scoucre as well, Capital can cut out pieces and parts from plans.

Wow...1147...nice boat! Thanks for the advice. I know someone here in Juneau that had a boat built from plans from specmar, but I didn't know they offered kits! That's great!

Thanks for the info. I called specmar, and they have a kit I'm going to order.

They said they are made so a beginger can build them. We'll see...!
