I'll be hunting out of Cold Bay w/ R&R. Got a Ruger .375 Alaskan (that I'm still working up a load for). I think I've got most of my gear ready, just got to try and get in better shape. It's going to be here before I know it!

I am heading to the Pacific side about mid-way down the peninsula with my brother for a DIY hunt/retirement present to myself after 20+ years on active duty. This is my last hunt that I will have to take leave for, I am out by mid July just before sheep season. I am using a 416 Remington Ultra Mag (a necked up 375 Remington Ultra Mag) built on a Winchester Model 70 CF action and a #6 Lilja barrel. It shoots a 400gr Barnes TSX at 2500 fps out of a 22" barrel, my rifle has been ready to go for 2 years now. Can't wait for the hunt, leaving for King Salmon in 2 months exactly!

SHA that is one deadly setup there, its pretty close to what I'm shooting out of my weatherby, same bullet and I have witnessed the devistating carnage that bullet leaves behind...cant wait for the story

on a side note thankyou for your service and I think I am pretty sure I know what you'll be doing for the first part of your retirement.....;-)
