Talked to Ron V at Deshka this morning and he is hauling a 100,000 lbs out on Red shirt on a contract. He says water under the snow on the trail and lots of overflow.

My buddy went out to red shirt a few weeks back using a ranger on tracks. While he was unloading a trooper walked up to inform him that it was a sled trail not an ATV trail. This surprised us both.....does anyone know different???

Does he have a snow vehicle registration?

A vehicle with low-pressure tires, (3-wheel and 4-wheel ATV’s) may qualify as a snow vehicle.
Such vehicles are required to be registered the same as snowmobiles (AS.05.30.120).

If he did, as I understand he should be legal (especially with tracks).

ATVs may be registered as snow vehicles. No need for low pressure tires or tracks. ATVs are free to tear up the trails.

Heaven forbid someone that has the same legal right to use these trails and pays the same amount to help maintain them as you actually utilize them(assuming that you do actually keep your machines registered).
