    Default April in anchorage

Hey there, visiting anchorage in mid April. Is there any fresh water options where I could bring my pontoon and have fun? Thinking grayling fly action, or walk and wade some rivers or creeks. What would you do?

The ice is breaking up in April. You'll be hard pressed to find any freshwater options where putting a boat in the water is realistic.

Upper kenai from cooper landing bridge down would be about your only real option.

Snow depths this year are going to make break-up on Campbell Creek UGLY and access even uglier in April.

if you go back behind taco bell off tuder the access is not to bad with the park and the bike path. i think that the snow depth and the resulting run-off will speed ice out conditions. the real trouble is the migration of homeless into the woods that surround the creek. i have had a few run-ins with drunks in this area.
