    Default This last summer......

    .........We had a robin's nest in the eves of our cabin.



    It was neat to watch the mommy robin build the nest, lay her eggs.



    Watch her raise her three chicks.......




    ........and then when the chicks were old enough to leave the nest.............

    If I do the math right, Mommy and daddy are in the pan too.

    That a wise choice, they would be traumatized losing their little babies like that. Especially if you are BBQing right below the nest.

    Those are some big robin legs in that pan...!!! Believe it or not I have eaten robin before....it's quite good. I heard years ago that in some places in Europe they are a game bird.

    Oh and last summer I saw an albino robin not far from the house on my way to work. Looked it up and I guess they aren't all that uncommon, but I'd never seen one before.

    Your a sick, sick man...HaHa. I ate one of those once (the ol, you shoot it you eat it thing that parents use for teaching hunting ethics) not bad at all.

    In Louisiana a robin is considered food for alot of people. Not legal but often eaten on a regular basis.
    Nice write up HOGFAMILY, good laugh.
