I am thinking some home defense, maybe some offensive stuff, shooting from or around obstiicals but mostly learning how to work around others with weapons efficiantly and saftly. Also Anchorage and vicinity folks are welcome as long as they are from the right side of town too. We would like to do this on sundays to start for the folks that might have to work on saturdays, feel free to call if your interested my numbers in my signiture

It sounds interesting to me. I could use some practice and benefit from others folks experience.

In all seriousness, where are you planning this shooting Ironartist? Semi-auto center fire rifles need a good backstop when doing tactical drills. They also draw a lot of attention. I'm all for it, but it has to be safe.

I didn't know the MatSu area was properly suited as a live fire drill area.

Is the instructor certified to any free with weapons??
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

Sorry that should read "degree" rather than free.

Since I don't pay money to support the site, there is an advertisement from the CDC(?) about the zombie apocalypse on here. Basically saying be prepared for anything. Don't mind the anti's, Ironartist, they are everywhere. Be careful in the training.

    Association of Arrogant Repetitive Posters?
Dude..that sure looks like a new signature line

I am no anti. Let me repeat, I am no anti. I am a certified gun nut that packs pretty much every day and sends several thousand rounds a year down range at a real range. I am also a certified range master (NRA) and a hunter safety instructor. Just because I want to know if this is at a safe place doesn't mean I am an anti.

I have also attended numerous classes in firearms over the years. Even at the best ones there have been safety issues, though they were handled quickly. Getting together to "run some drills" with strangers is not to be taken lightly. At a minimum it should be conducted at an approved range. If not on an approved range, a private property with enough land to provide a safe place.

What is an anti? It was mentioned in the removed posts and a google search had too many meanings.

Geez you notice I didn't jump into your party thread trying to trash it I wish you could give me the same respect.
You get your friends together and have a party, I'll get my friends together and shoot weapons.
twb your kidding me right, there's lots of great public land we can shoot up in the mat su, along with access to a large privite pit or other large parcels of ground and a couple instructors occasionally helping out free of charge, but really who's better to help out than our latest war vets?
