    Default Muzzleloader Musk-ox

Just got back from Nunivak Island. Took a nice musk-ox with a T/C Omega, 325 gr Hornady round in front of 115 grains of Black Horn powder.

That's a really beautiful musk ox!

How did the ML perform? Any opportunity to recover the bullet?

Congrats on a "once in a lifetime" hunt! With this being a draw hunt (really no need to be a secret), would you mind telling us all about the experience? Again congrats.

Awesome animal and to do it with a muzzleloader as well. Great Job.

Aviator, great experience and very fun hunt. I posted a write-up in the general hunting forum with a few hunt detail.

BB, muzzleloader performed great. I recovered the bullet just under the skin on the opposite side. I was shooting the Hornady FTX which they make for use in the 45 caliber lever actions like the 45-70. I would guess it retained 75 percent of its weight.

I have to thank on of my buddies, he offered up his muzzleloader when I was looking for something other than a standard rifle to take out with me. He had these rounds all dialed in. Put a big thumping on the ox. Would be a good moose round and would blow right through a black bear.

    Nice thanks for sharing
Do I give my friends advice? Jesus, no. They wouldn't take advice from me. Nobody should take advice from me. I haven't got a clue about anything..
