    Default guide gun can shoot

A friend offered me a guide gun for a real good price. It was a older wood blued model, but in 99percent condition. guidegun.jpg It came with a scope rail with ghost ring sights and a leupold 2x extended eye relief scope. I really had no interest in a guide gun, but for the price I couldnt pass it up. I went to the range this morning with a box of remington 405gr core-lokt's just to see if I wanted to keep it. I was very impressed with the first 6 shots from this rifle at 65 yards. I had one flier, but I know that was me on the first shot. I can't wait to load up 400gr barnes orginals and see how they do.

Nicely done! Can't ask for better than that from a 'brush gun'.
Let us know how it does with the Barnes.

Sweet - and those Rem 405s are so pleasant to shoot and pack plenty of whallop on the targeted game!

Good shooting swampdonkey. That 45-70 GG will get addicting. I got mine this past spring and I could not be happier. I haven't loaded up any 405's yet but the 300 grain Lead Hard Cast make me smile.

I think you have the wrong person. This gun was never for sale. I just bought it this last weekend. You must have me confused with someone else.

Iím just pulling your chain some.

    You said:

I assumed that now your keeping it and I decided to say so in a funny way.
Sorry if I offended, didnít mean to, only making light of how well you seem to like the gun after shooting it.

Shooting some tight groups will certainly change your attitude about selling a rifle.

You have the same problem I have with my GG; every time I think I NEED a new up to 300yd hunting rifle (308, 06 etc) I take the GG to the range and realize how good it is at those ranges! Never mind, it meant I could justify the 338WM for Long Range and 300 Blackout (just for fun!) this year as the GG fills that short to medium range nicely.
