Default Weatherby Van or Rem 700 in .308 youth?

I have the option of ordering what I want which is the Rem 700 .308 youth but it is 90 days out or a Weatherby Vanguard .308 youth which is on the shelf. Which one??

I just looked at the Vanguard. 6.5 lbs, 20" barrel, adjustable length of pull. How can you go wrong? I know your eager! I say go for it. It won't be your last rifle.

I picked up a Vanguard a few weeks ago...a pretty nice rifle for the cash and Remington fans will hate to hear it, but I think it's probably a better rifle. If not better, certainly the equal.

I picked up one of these last month... http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=273423536

My search started with the mdl 70 featherweight but the 77RL is a pound lighter. I'm working thru some accuracy issues but sure like the gun.

Both rifles are really basic guns. I bought my daughter a Remington 700 SPS youth last year and we've been really happy with it. I went with the 7-08, though. It shoots some of the best groups of any rifles we own. There's nothing wrong with the Vanguards, though.

I would go with the Vanguard, any day of the week. I just love the Weatherby Stock Design.

The older Youth Models had TWO stocks. The NEWER ones have the adjustable LOP.

    Either, would be OK, IMO.

Thanks fella's. I went with the Vanguard. I'll start throwing some lead thru it and see how she shoots soon!
