It was in a Emergency Order after they found a large population of pike in L.L. Apparently the pike have decimated the lake trout population.

I would suggest a snow shovel and waterproof boots. Any standard auger should be fine. I have an extension and have always cut through without it. The ice is insulated so it didn't get very thick this year.

Saturday is the Sweetheart Poker Run. There should be a few people around. The weather should hold. The snow is EPIC!

If you are snowmachining out there, take a board to lift your track up off the ice. I'll be on a 2010 Tundra.

I dont think it was the pike that was the invasive species it was the "rooskies" That are the invasive species and over taking the lake.

akdube, you are most certainly right. Unfortuantely, the rooskies are invading, poaching and destroying many other fisheries and hunting grounds as well.

Are they classified as feral or deleterious and exotic game? No closed season and no bag limits.

Was at Lake Louise this weekend. Ice on the Susitna is about 30" thick. Weather was awesome. Did the Sweet Heart Poker Run and the trail and off trail riding was great.
