    Thumbs up SVWT Is Complete!

So everyone that likes long safe runs.

The SVWT got it's last leg in today as Vern from Mid-Valley Trail Club got the section from Deshka River X-over to Su Landing in and marked. More markers later in the week. It was tuff as the river has been a pain this year, and the snow just keeps coming.
So you can start at Big Lake and go to Denali State Park. Or any of the great areas inbetween!
    Get out and ride!

I'm going to make the run from the Big Su bridge north to mile 130 tomorrow and back, then from the Big Su down to Willow on Monday and back. Kinda sucks to live in the middle. If you see a guy on a black Bearcat, red helmet and gray coat..flag me down and say hi. I'll most likely be riding solo.

Might have my son with me on Monday. Blue '98 Summit X. Funny thing, I've been living up here for 30+ years now and it's my first trail ride on the system other than a quick shot down the E-W express trail a couple years ago.

I'm not sure if we are going to make it to Willow tomorrow. I ran the northern trails from the north side of the Big Su, up to Trapper Creek, along the Chulitna Bluff trail up mile 129 on the Parks, and visited/rode with some friends up there. Then we ran back down to Trapper Creek and across to Talkeetna for lunch. Back to Trapper Creek where we split and I headed south back to the Big Su. I then ran down to Trapper Lake and back up to the Big Su parking lot.

The trails on the north end were beyond excellent. Very, very nice The trail south from the Big Su to Trapper Lake was o.k., but you can definitely tell that expensive groomer that the Curry Ridge guys run is the way to go. All in all it was a great way for me to get out on the trails and see where our registration dollars are going. I'm whipped, though, and I'm not sure another 75 miles tomorrow is in the cards.

    Nice Run.
    Try next week.
I do the same as Randy with snowmachine drags.

Hopefully Vern can get out and smooth things out for the mid-valley. I think I will give him a call and see if he needs a hand.

Yeah, I guess you missed the riding with my friends (actually Justin's friends) part of the paragraph The Bearcat was upside down the first time yesterday. There's still some good powder to be had up at mile 129 and yes, you can jump a Bearcat. Although, that was only about 25 miles of my 125 miles yesterday. If that had been 125 miles of backcountry I would have been in the hospital this morning

It doesn't matter, though, because I have to go out and fix my backhoe. Same rod on the controls you broke a couple years ago...

WOW is all I can say... Rode yesterday on the SVWT with my daughter from Big Lake to the East West Trail in Petersville, stopped at the Forks, up and around thru Tokisitna, Nice View and back to Trapper Creek for fuel before heading back to Willow. You guys grooming those trail are AWESOME!!! Met some of you on the trail and can't thank you enough for all you do... Keep Up The Good Work.
