Default Wax Boxes- Where to Buy?

Anyone know where you can pick up 50lb wax boxes around Anchorage? I need some to hopefully fly meat back to Anchorage in a week or so. Last time I needed wax boxes to haul back meat I was able to get some empties from some local grocery stores but haven't been that lucky this time.

I used to get them at New Sagaya... ask for a "fish box".

I've also seen them at Fred Meyer and the UPS Store.

I've made a run by New Sagaya and Fredy's but struck out. I've had luck at Sagaya in the past. I'll give Costo a try.

I have two in my garage you can use, like new and in good shape. Just hauled home halibut from company trip is all. Not sure on size, def not the 80# but not sure on what sizes they make them in.

Costco - packaged 10 in a bundle, BUT be careful to get a pack of both tops & bottoms. They're packaged seperately, so you have to pick up both. I haven't bought any lately, but you get 10 for what one of the other stores want for one.

Try Frointier Paper they moved to the Dimind and Old Seward area of town. 272-4000 they sell to the public and fish processors. Should have any size you want.

I just saw 5 at the Carr's at the corner of Muldoon & Northern Lights Blvd yesterday. They're on the wall in front of the registers. Sorry, I didn't see the price.

Thanks for the help guys. I took the tip and stopped by Costco yesterday. You can buy a 5 pack of 50 # boxes for $16. Hopefully they'll be full of musk-ox next weekend.

I'm guessing you're divvying up the musk ox with other people? 'Cause 5 50 pound boxes will only handle about 1/4 to 1/3 of the meat on a musk ox...good luck, post about your hunt afterwards.
