Default Haines for earily Black bear hunt?

I was curious if black bear hunting In late april in Haines would be worth the trip? Any thoughts? Never been that way before so it would be new country and make for a good trip.

Unless things have changed a lot you should do fine in Haines..I for sure would have a brownie tag also.Lots of good hunting between Haines and the border.
Now left only to be a turd in the forrest and the circle will be complete.Use me as I have used you

How much snow is around that time of year?

Snow depends on how much rain is happening in April. I have seen as much as 4 feet on the flats at sea level to none if it rains. It has been a very heavy snow year. You won't know until very near time to go.

If i go down ill be sure to grab a register for a griz tag. Is there place to park your truck and walk in, while talking about that is it safe to leave it parked off the highway for a couple days?

If the logging roads are clear parking won't be a problem.Up around sunshine mountain is a good place to start. If Chilcook park is open you could camp there and walk the glory hole road.
