Default polaris starting problem?? any ideas

Well I am not much mechanically inclined.
I have a sportsman 400 and when I turn the key all I get is a clicking sound. I charged the battery and even put it in a different atv and it fired right up. So it is not the battery.
Before I take it to the dealer any ideas what the problem could be and how I could fix it myself??
    Thanks
    Jason

could be the starter but I bet that you have a corrosion problem, or a loose wire. follow the battery cable and make sure that it is clean and tight at all connections. wouldnt hurt to take off any connectors you can get too and hit them with a wire brush. good luck

I'm with LuJon, it's either a bad connection or possibly a bad starter solenoid.

Not sure about the Polaris ,but is the clicking comeing from the starter or the starter silinoid .
Follow the power and see if you get 12 volts at the starter.

Try putting 12 volts on the starter with boster cables or finner wirers
from a remote battery ....pluse to the start wire and negitive to the housing.

Remove the starter and see if it turns by turning the gear my hand.

Maybe its not the starter ...maybe the engine is seized

Does it have a kick start or can you push start it !

Last of all or first of all check the fuses.

Just curious if you figured out the starting problem?
