I've been on successful and unsuccessful hunts on all but the 3-5 miles from the road, so I checked 6 of the 8.

That is the goal of the pole it is more about hunt success than individual success which is why I left it open to multiple selections figuring that there are many people who have multiple archery hunts up there.

On our way home from my first trip up there we had a group of the five largest bulls I have ever seen casually walk across the road about 30-40 miles south of Coldfoot. In August. I had no idea that we could expect to see caribou that far south, so my bow was packed firmly away in the truck. I'm sure I was a laughable sight as I furiously threw things out of the truck trying to get to my bow. By the time I got my bow in hand and an arrow ready the bulls had disappeared into the timber. I tried tracking them, but to no avail. I'll have my bow ready next time, regardless of how rare that sighting may have been.

I arrowed one real nice bull south of Coldfoot, in September too. Couldn't believe it when we saw it, but put the stalk on and I got him.

You always should have your bow ready there, you never know when a grizzly or black bear will pop up. I haven't seen many south of Coldfoot, but I've seen enough to keep me on high alert each time I drive through there.
