Default 2012 Alaskan Hunting Photo Gallery

    2012 Alaskan Hunting Photo Gallery

    Same guidelines as usual:

Photos and short hunt descriptions only. - Please, if you want to congratulate a hunter or ask questions, do so in a separate thread or via the PM system.

Alaskan hunts only - Please feel free to share your photos from other states/countries in the Out and About forum.

    2012 hunts only

This is one of my favorite features of the site, as I love seeing the collection build throughout the year and the transition from one set of species to another. Our late winter moose, bison and musk ox...leading to the spring bear...and then into sheep and caribou...and back to moose, goat, bears, and more. Let's get this new collection started!

Default 2012 Kodiak Island Brown Bear

Here is a picture of me and my buddy Bill, with the Brown Bear I helped him take. I measured 9'6", 27" skull and was in perfect condition.
We videoed the whole hunt and it will air next spring on Alaska Outdoors Television.

Default Spot and Stalk Black Bear

Was able to watch this bear sleeping on a hill side for over an hour before he stood up to stretch giving me a good shot.

Default Southeast, for the Black Bear

Traveling through Southeast by old fishing boat this spring,...
made sure I had Black Bear Tags,...and a good load worked up for the .243
95gr Nosler Partition, goin' about 2900fps,...passes thru both lungs

and down he went,...well, after about a 30yd dash for the forest from the beach grass
Stalked him with my little 9ft., "shore recon kayak," and a little crawling,

Looks like just under 6ft. of really nice thick fur, and a Boar,....

big enough to chase fawns around,...so he's in our freezer instead
Ten Hours in that little raft off the AK peninsula, blowin' NW 60, in November.... "the Power of Life and Death is in the Tongue," and Yes, God is Good !

Al, glad things worked out going around the island and nice looking bear. That's one of my favorite areas you took him in.
