    What is that bird? I saw a couple in my yard the other day. I'd never seen them before.
    I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

    Not technically from the kitchen, but do have pic of same critters from the kitchen.





    The calf just after it had licked my daughters hand, yes no joke.

    She had walked closer and stopped behind a tree to take some pictures. The cow walked up the road, the calf approached my daughter. She was afraid so hugged the tree, at which point the calf licked her hand. The camera was dangling from her hand so she didn't get the pic until the calf started walking away.
    Those that are successful in Alaska are those who are flexible, and allow the reality of life in Alaska to shape their dreams, vs. trying to force their dreams on the reality of Alaska.

    If you have a tenuous grasp of reality, Alaska is not for you.
