Default 30 Rem Brass, can't find it anywhere.

Does anyone have any 30 rem brass, Ill can even resize 25 or 32 rem if you have it.

I have searched starline, grafs, huntingtons, midway everywhere and they are discontinued!

If anyone knows of any brass I can buy please let me know.

    Thanks!

If you have access to a metal lathe, you can make all you want from 30-30 brass. Just turn the rim off, and cut a new extractor groove. That's how the guys I know do it.

I've got a 30 Rem as well. Probably going to have to turn some 30-30 brass on the lathe. Handloaders manual of cartridge conversions has the dimensions to go by.

Another option could be 6.8 SPC brass. It is based off the 30 Rem., but I'm not sure if the 6.8 is the right length to neck up and trim to length. Plenty of brass available.

I wonder if that would be to much of a stretch and split the case. at $2 a case that could get expensive. Have you resized them?

    They're way too short.

I've got a box of 18, or so, once fired hulls in a Factory RP box. Came from my Grandpas Remmy 141 pump gun. The thing looks like a smooth bore and don't shoot worth a hoot. Lemme make sure I can still find them.

I've not necked them to anything so take this for what its worth. If I were going to neck 25 Remington to .308 I'd step them up incrementally--.264, .277, .284 and then .308. At a couple $ apiece you'd minimize loss and could anneal after the .277 or .284 step to further reduce case loss. It would take a little more time to do it that way, but it's what I'd do.

. . . and liberally apply Imperial Sizing Wax on the inside of the neck on each expanding pass.

Should've mentioned it as I'm always using Imperial...

That sounds like a good caudate to send to JES Reboring for a 358-30 Remington type deal, would be a cool gun!

    L. G. , I am a fan of reboring, and have had a number of rifles done. However, just wondering if you have given the bore a really good scrubbing. If it really looks like a smoothbore, rather than being pitted, I would bet you might be pleasantly surprised what a good cleaning might do.

Can't imagine that anyone could shoot enough 30 Rem to actually wear out a barrel.

It sure could be leaded, ainít looked at it myself but Iíve seen many a shot out shiny 30-30 in that age bracket and assume a 30rem would be about as likely to shoot-out as a 30-30. Some of them ole fellers had one gun, shot it a bunch then shot even more, and used whatever they had around to clean them out.
