    Default hall road moose hunting

I am looking for a place on the hall road that i can hunt moose with an over the counter tag. If any one has any info I would appreciate it. It does not have to produce huge bulls. I will be on foot so somewhere relitivly close to the road would be nice.

She said, "I'm gonna hire a wino
    and he'll decorate our home
so you'll feel more at ease here
and you won't need to roam.
We'll take out the dining room table
and put a bar on that wall
and a neon sign that points the way
to our bathroom down the haul."

    Wow, that was random.

Look into the regs, the Dalton Hwy has a no-rifle hunting corridor 5 miles on each side of the highway.
I may be slow, but I get where I'm going!

Here is my question if I am not seeing what I like, how hard would it be to find someone to fly me out ,find a good bunch of animals, drop me off infront of them and pick me up in a couple days. I understand the laws about hunting the same day, and the five mile rule from road to hunt with rifle. I would like to now about how much this would cost, also some reputabal companies or names of private poeple in that area that could help me out.

So, given you understand the 5 mile corridor rules, and that you are asking about someplace "relitivly close to the road", we can assume you will be bow hunting, yes?

Put a location in your profile so that folks know you are a non resident.

You need to read the regulations. If you had you would not have needed to ask the question.

In unit 24A the Dalton Highway Corridor moose hunting is bow hunt only by drawing permit only. Did you apply by 5pm AK time on 12/31/2011? Do you have your bow certification yet? Need that to apply for the bow only drawing hunts.

In unit 26 as a non resident you are not allowed to moose hunt.

In unit 20F there appears to be no non resident moose hunts allowed.
In unit 20B there appears to be a limited area for non resident moose hunting.
In other sections of unit 20 there are NR opportunities, just not along the Haul Road.

In unit 20 you will be competing with a lot of the locals so nobody will be coughing up any info on that. However, there are lots of ATV trails, and small rivers, so follow one and hope you don't find yourself on private property and have a Deliverance moment.
