I get back from Africa on the 8 and then head to work. So with some luck and a kitchen pass I will be heading up there when my week of work is over.

I might...not sure yet. My priority is a sheep hunt on Aug. 10th. With the new school calendar, I need to be back at work on the 17th, so I'm thinking of a possible Aug 1st-6th trip, then back into the mountains on the 7th or 8th for sheep. Not sure, though.

    Default I'll be up there

Right now as it stands looks like the 4-11 of August for me. Still wondering if I should try a late season trip instead (after Oct.1st). Good luck to you all and let your arrows fly true. and lets help the caribou with there low carbon diets.

None of you will be in a shortage for company up there, lots of hunters up there in Aug and Sept. Seems that August is the worst though as far as the crowds go.

Default I plan on being up there around the end of July/early August

I plan on being up there around the end of July/early August. I would rather be up there in August/September so the meat won't go bad, but that is when I have time off of work. I am considering boning out the meat once I get back to my camp and storing it in some coolers in dry ziploc bags covered in ice. I know you are supposed to keep the meat on the bone until you get out of the field, but I think technically if you are back in camp and on the road that would be considered out of the field. Does anybody know if that is true or not?

bushwack jack- i do not think there is a rule about keeping meat on bone of caribou in gmu 26B. i always have kept it on the bone. don't forget to leave evidence of sex attached. gmu 24 for moose there is.
problem will be getting and keeping a supply of ice.......snow from atigan pass??????

    Default Fuel costs

It might be advisable for some of use to keep this post near the top. So that anyone that can go together might do so. I put some fuel in the truck yesterday and it was already up to $3.00 a gallon in Valdez this summer.

Who's going four-wheeling up there???......hehehe. Gas is probably going to be the same it was last year, $3.65-$3.69 @ Coldfoot and about .05 cheaper at Deadhorse, yep, couldn't figure that one out, but it is cheaper...No one said the Haul Rd. trip was cheap. Would like to draw a moose tag for another area up there, found a nice shed last year in a certain area, might hang around up there for two weeks maybe longer depending if I score.......................K

*there...brought this post to the top again.
