    Default Rocking Moose

    Made this guy out of scrap ply and other stuff laying around the shop; total cost: $0. Finished with two coats of oil and two of spar varnish.

    Nice. Did you have a set of plans for that or did you let the saw and hands lead the way?

    Naw, no plans. Looked at a couple of Google pics then started doodling. Lofting parts up actual size always makes things easier. Used a trammel to mark out the rockers, various size containers even a roasting pan lid to make the rest of the curves. Made cardboard patterns for the legs and antlers. Pieces were notched together with a router, glued and screwed.
