Thread: If I could only have 3 rifles - which three?

  1. #1

Default If I could only have 3 rifles - which three?

If I could only have 3 rifles to hunt anything from Pdogs to Brown bear and anything in between. What three would I choose? What three would you choose? Now lets set up some parameters and they are 1. The cartridge being easy to find in rifles made by major manufactures. 2. The cartridge being easy to get factory ammo. Obviously we are talking about versitility that covers the hunting situation from top to bottom.

    My choices are

    1. 22-250

    2. 30-06

    3. 458 Win Mag.

    What are your choices?

    Default Good question..........

If I had only 3 rifles too choose from I would have to say:

    1. .375 H&H
    2. .30-06
    3. .223

Everyone sells ammo for them, you can load with with a wide variety of bullet weights, pretty much all bases covered.

I would prefer Browning rifles, but overall ease with being able to get replacement parts easily I would have to go with a Remington 700.

Thats pretty easy. You said rifles not cartridges so I'm going to be a little more specific. I would have......

    1. Ruger 10/22 22lr w/leupold 2.5-8 rimefire scope

    2. winchester 70 classic stainless 300 win mag
    w/4-12x40 VXII with LR reticle

    3. Winchester 70 classic stainless 375 H&H
with lightweight customizing job with Leupold
w/1.5-5 illuminated VXIII with german post dot
    reticle.

And if I could have one more it would be my browning Eurobolt w/boss in 243 w/ leupold 3-9x40 VXII with LR reticle.

I could handle just about anyting in north america with those guns. That said I would hate to be limited to just 3 or even 4 guns.

Perfect choices. Except I would go with Winchester's or rifles with Winchester style actions and triggers.
