    Default Ice shanty Big Lake

    Hello,
My best friend is flying up for Christmas this Friday. I plan on taking him fishing on some small local lakes, (I don't have any real idea, I've only been here 6 months, suggestions?). I've searched the net and this forum and don't see any ice shanty's to rent. Does anyone know if you can rent a shanty on Big Lake? Any budding entrepreneurs want to make some rental coin? Doesn't have to be on the weekend, he'll be here till next friday. Can I drive my snowmachine on Big Lake now?
    Tight lines

As nice as that MN ice house sounds, I was looking for a normal hard sided shack to rent. Thanks for the offers, very kind of you. May just leave the kid at home and take my pop up. Would you launch at the north or south access to be closer to where people are fishing? Thanks again.

if your going to be up here awhile you might consider buying a portable(it gets cold and windy). There have been some real good sales on them lately. Also I see that buddy heaters are on sale @ Freddy's and Sportmans Wallyworld. As for lakes to try, Matanuska is fun, not always BIG fish but lots of fish. We went last tues w/ a kid who caught a good 20, we caught even more! had a blast!!!! I know there are some 7lb chars planted in there a month ago. Keppler Bradley, Echo are fun too. Get on the fish and game page and you can find where they are stocking lakes and also topos of some of the lakes. Have fun and good luck
