Default Southeast Winter King Fishing lately?

I am hoping to try my luck at some winter king fishing soon. Anybody in Southeast, AK been out lately trying to catch a king?

My tiny freezer is full of deer, and I am absolutely tired of working on the addition on my house, I need a break.

Will probably drop a metal jig or mooch a herring around some reefs or flats.

What part of SE are you in? Sounds like the guys in Petersburg are hitting them really good.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

It's been good here in Wrangell. Had fresh king for dinner to nite.

Check out the feed aong the beach south of DuPont. If that area is too snotty from the SE, check out the deeper drags off of Shaman Is. The feeders I caught before the northerlies ended my fall season were just beneath scattered schools of juvenile herring. Good luck.

I wish it was mine, but this was caught this afternoon in Kake. It was sent to me from a cell phone.

    Nice.

Start tying up leaders boys.. it's going to be another wild ride for kings this summer in SE. It should be nothing short of spectacular.

You got it Joel, I went to check crab pots yesterday and marked 6 kings in the cove. Pretty pumped! Got one the other day and a nice butt in 2 hours of fishing.

I was out deer hunting in Hoonah on Friday the 30th and there were 4-5 boats king fishing that day. Apparently they have been doing well.
