Default Anyone Running Winter Kings Out of Whittier?

I have tried searching and even checked a bunch of google hits, but I cannot find any charters doing Winter Kings out of Whittier. I know this is not a full time gig for charter operators, but I do know that Homer and Seward have guys that will offer it. Any info would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks

No one in Whittier that I have ever heard of, Homer is the place you want to go

It is an 80+ mile run to get where they can be caught consistently. There are pockets that can be found closer, but catching them can be fickle at best during the summer months, let alone the winter. Head to Homer. You can be fishing within minutes of leaving the harbor.

    Default Last time out

Here's 3 from my last time out with a friend. Out near 4th of July Creek past Seldovia, although the islands have been just as productive lately and are within spitting distance of the Spit (pun intended)...

No don't show and tell Just let them know how cold and bad the weather is! Looks like you have to wear a dry suit just to stay alive. 10 deg 40kts out of the west fishing in 200ft of water for 12 hr good job! It was nice talking to you about your boat.

Perhaps his fishfinder was on the fritz, so he had to go to a back-up method?
