    Default Good place to shoot?

I know its Alaska and there are plenty of open spaces but Im honestly not comfortable going out and firing my gun into an area Im not familiar with. Are there any ranges indoor or outdoor in the Anchorage area that are recommended?

There is Rabbit Creek on the S end of town, but they are closed for December. Some people consider the range master heavy handed, but I've never really had an issue with that and have been shooting at the range for over a decade. The pistol range was shortened from 100yd to 50yd some years back due to yahoos shooting over the berm. 1/2 the range is covered and I think they have or are going to be adding heaters on the covered side.

Then there is Isaac Walton range N in Birchwood, I've shot there a few times, kinda spendy, but they have a 300yd rifle range.

There is an indoor range in Palmer, never shot there.
Those that are successful in Alaska are those who are flexible, and allow the reality of life in Alaska to shape their dreams, vs. trying to force their dreams on the reality of Alaska.

If you have a tenuous grasp of reality, Alaska is not for you.

Where? There isn't a safe one to shoot in until mile 107.. and it's gated off.

FT Rich has an off duty range for valid ID card holders, call range control for details.
