Hmmm... Dropped on Sept 1st. Sounds like a dream hunt to me. 100 lbs of gear each and no food. Shouldn't be too hard

LOL, first read thru I assumed they were dropped yesterday. Wondering how they were planning on fishing!
Travel would be easier now tho.

Love the comment on the site about the area being some of the most game rich in the world.... I hope they headed out and didn't see any game for days like most of Alaska! A nice low hare year with nothing but the occasional tiny squirrel would be perfect!

HaHa, ya, that'd be good, and no fish eather, by the end september they would be all rotten. and only traveling 3 or 4 miles a day? (110 miles, 30 days), thats pretty bad.

FFG, there are more fish in the streams than salmon. I've been to plenty of arctic rivers that you could live on char, grayling and berries pretty easy until freezeup.

Yes, you are right, I was having a brain fart. I forgot they were up north.

My training comment was in regards to this statement from Chris Keefer. How intense of training does one need for a float hunt? Then again if it was anything like my float hunt I would suggest lots of upper and lower body workouts to prep for float dragging and pushing. I only did a 25 miler and drug for 2/3rds of it so not sure I want to drag a raft, gear, and harvested animals 80 or so miles.

“The training we put into getting ready for these next 30 days was intense,” said Chris Keefer. “Its important your mind and body are prepared to survive in this remote country – I’m hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst.”

Anyone know the laundry list of Alaska permits they'd need to do this? And what those permits will allow?

Not quit sure I understand episode 7 being them still in michigan. I know I'm slow. Anyone find infor on when it will show and how many episodes they will have. I'm impressed that they are doing it with bows. I think that this might be a better scenerio than the Alaskan Experiment. I wonder if their crew has food and will provide as Gil or Les like to call "safety crew". I would be more impressed if they didn't have anyone with them at all and did things the way Les Stroud started. Sounds like a fun hunt.

I saw an ad on tv last night highlighting 12/27 as the start of the series.

No doubt they'll survive, they'll have the benefit of all their sponsors' space age equipment. I'd like to see them survive on my dated equipment that serves me well. I'm jealous, I wish it were me.

I was thinking the same thing when I first started reading the concept of the show then I wondered if they were floating the exact same river and just copying Bucks trip?
