Talking King on! Homerdave, tell us it's true

I had to call the North star dock in Homer today for work. He tells me that the small boat harbor is ice free as of this weekend.
    Any other reports?
I am going to try to head down Thursday, if possible. Fish friday and Saturday, wohoo!

Default uh...wayne don't know all...(if thats who you talked to)

i think...maybe...that if someone were to launch on the northernmost ramp at high tide they could follow open water around the perimeter of the harbor and get out. windy and warmer right now, i hope to get out as i have been getting a few calls for taxi work and am still fast in the ice.
btw, if you are longshoring there is no doubt you know my brother-in-law.
3 boats fished the bluff today..no hits, no fish, got blown off by 2 or so...

    Default Light at the end...

Yeah it was Wayne. Don't really know him though, just pricing a barge loading. He said a strong west wind cleared all the ice out.
Maybe he got the wind part right though. Sounds like tough fishin'.

We knew it had to blow a little to change the weather pattern. Maybe it will blow out by Friday. (OK, I thought this site had just enough icon thingies, but if there was a crossed finger I would enter it here!)

Well, thanks for keeping us posted and good luck to you in the derby.
