    Default Hewescraft Seat Spring Upgrade

I just bought a used Alaskan and the little springs that are under the basic Hewescraft seats were all broken. I found some at Fastener and Fire Equipment in Anchorage and they are bigger and stiffer. Much better feel than the old stock ones. Part number C814 is anyone is interested. The only thing I had to change was the 4 buttons that the old springs sat on are now too small. So, I removed the top ones and epoxied the bottom ones in place so they hold the new springs in position. I think I spent $17 in parts. Just figured I'd throw it out there if anyone was wanting to improve the seat.

Thanks, Rob, good tip....I only have about 260 hours on my '08 HC like yours, but I'll check the springs anyway. Enjoy your new boat and be sure to check all your electrical connections, especially those in the back transom...that's the only thing I've had any problem with on my boat, other than it's had a hard time finding halibut in PWS the last couple of years
