    Default River Rescue Class ?

    Hi fellow hunters,

I am new to float hunting and have been thinking that a wise thing to do is take a river rescue class before I go and put myself 100 miles into the wilderness. I am wanting to know who does this in south central ? Anybody know

Nova usually offers a 3-day river rescue class in May. I think they usually hold the field exercise portion on the Matanuska River. See their website: http://www.novalaska.com/

Also try contacting Knik Canoers and Kayakers (KCK), they're a club of water goers and will likely know who/when/where will be holding a river rescue class.

I took the swiftwater rescue class with these guys one weekend and spent nearly one whole day in the water in the Nenana River doing training. Check them out. They are top notch, I learned so much.....and I thought I knew it all already.

Thanks for the Intel! I will check into them both.
