    Hi,

    There will be a 25 yard (75 feet) Indoor Small Bore Conventional Prone Match this Saturday November 26, 2011 at the Matanuska Valley Sportsmenís range. Please refer to the attachment for details.

    DATES: November 26, 2011

    LOCATION: Palmer, Alaska

    SPONSORING ORANGANIZATION: Matanuska Valley Sportsmen

    DIRECTIONS TO RANGE: Mile 38.5 Glenn Highway

    FEES: Entry fee is $14.00 per individual, of which a $10.00 is for range fee.

    POST ENTRIES: Post entries will be accepted on the day of competition until the range capacity is filled. There will be a post entry fee of $2.00

    ENTRY LIMIT: Entry limit will be the first 24 competitors.

    TIME OF FIRING: Firing will commence at 9:00 AM

    RIFLE: Rule 3.2

    TARGET: NRA Office Targets A-7/5 (5 bull Ė 1 shot/bull) will be used. Two targets are to be hung at a time.

    CLASSIFICATION: The NRA classification system will be used in all matches. Unclassified competitors will compete in the Master Class. Rule 19.6 - Assigned Classification, or rule 19.2 Temporary Classification, may be used in making entry.

    AWARDS: None.

    MATCH SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS: All matches will be fired with any rifle (rule 3.2). There will be a 30 minute break between Match 1 and Match 2.

    Match 1: 60 rounds prone, 25 yards, any sights,
    A-7/5 target, block time 1 hour 30 minutes.
    Match 2: 60 rounds prone, 25 yards, iron sights,
    A-7/5 target, block time 1 hour 30 minutes.
    Match 3: Aggregate of matches 1 and 2.


    GENERAL INFORMATION: Competitors will be required to assist in setting up the range and changing targets.

    I had to look it up so I thought I'd post it.

    3.2 Any Rifle-A rifle with no restrictions on sights or accessories, except
    that it must be safe to competitors and range personnel. Ammunition will be
    restricted to no larger than .35 caliber. (Attention is directed to safety fan
    limitations of various ranges. Individual ranges may further restrict ammuni-
    tion). The provisions of Rule 3.16.1 apply to this definition.

    Thanks Andy..

    Small bore is 22LR, so NRA Small Bore rules apply...this match is INDOORS BTW....bring a junior!

    you can shoot the iron sights in the any sight match; scopes allowed in the any sight match, but not the iron sight match.

    3.2 Any Rifle -
    A rifle authorized for use in smallbore rifle matches using cartridges commercially cataloguedas the .22 Short, .22 Long or .22 Long Rifle cartridges. There are no restrictions on the barrel length or overallweight of the rifle and accessories. Any safe trigger is allowed. No portion of the rifle or any attachment to the rifleshall extend more than 3 inches beyond the rear of the shooterís shoulder. A butt plate conforming with NRA Rule3.15 may be used. Around the body, or around the shoulder hooks are not permitted. The same rifle must beused throughout all stages of any one match (except aggregate) except in the case of a malfunction or disabledrifle when the competitor may change rifles with permission of the Chief Range Officer. In NRA Metric Position
    Course shooting, this rule will govern the conduct of the match and may not be waived by the Match Sponsor.

    two different rule books

    NRA High Power Rifle

    NRA Small Bore Rifle

    Section 3.2 of each rule book define any rifle for each of the disciplines. They are different, as SB is 22 LR and HP Rifle is centerfire.
