Default AA #9 in .44 Mag

How's 18.5 gr of AA#9 with a CCI Large Pistol primer behind a 300 gr hardcast sound for a .44 mag load? The gun's a Dan Wesson 44V. What I'm reading says this should be giving about 1320fps or so.

    Thumbs up 44 mag

Had good results with H110 and W296 in the 44 Mag.

That's is about right but the velocity is for a 71/2" barrel, your mileage may vary. AA#9 powder is about the ball equivalent of 2400. I would prefer 2400 for cast bullets in the 44 but AA#9 works. You will need a Large Pistoll Magnum primer (CCI-350, etc) with that load.
Is there nothing so sacred on this earth that you aren't willing to kill or die for?

    Jeff,

What do you like better about that powder over some of the others?
