    Default Douglas Deer Calling....

Totally pointless. *Most* of the time. Called to 7 yards. She stopped and stared at me for a bit before I took her.

Calls work on does. My 12 yr. old daughter called in two does to 10 yards the first time she ever used a call. We called over a dozen does on P.O.W. It's a bucks only season there, though, so it really did us no good. The fawn bleat stopped several bucks cold, including the one we shot, but didn't draw any bucks toward us. It's definately a good tool to have.

Nice deer guys, I am heading down to hunt on Douglas next tuesday, cant wait, hopefully snow wont be too deep! how low were deer at? sounds like with the amount of snow they should be pretty low, any suggestion or advice would be greatly appreciated, what types of calls were you using? first time hunting down there so excited to just get out and check the area out, have a buddy who lives down there who will be hunting with me, but will be his first hunt ever so it will be adventure for sure, hopefully can get him his first animal. Please feel free to PM if would rather. Congrats again, hopefully can add some pics next week!!!

It can be done, but usually requires you to be a long way from the commonly hunted areas. I've called in deer pretty much every year for the past 4-5 years, but I'm also 3.5 miles from anything. Nice buck.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
